Les gadgets sont des petits modules, des applications, réalisant une toute petite fonctionnalité bien précise et que vous pouvez utiliser selon vos besoins. Contrairement à Windows Vista, les gadgets de Windows 7ne nécessitent pas d’utiliser le volet Windows.  Avec Windows 7, il suffit de les choisir dans la liste des gadgets disponibles et de les déposer directement sur le Bureau.
